The full steps

Your first time, slowly

  1. 1

    Make your own account first

You need your own account before you build anyone else's. Create your account with the email the office has for you, or sign in if you already have one.

Use the same email the office has for you as a leader. That is how the website knows which team is yours.

  2. 2

    Find your team

Open Team Accounts. Every ministry, committee and leadership group is listed, with the Affiliate Churches further down. Each card shows its leaders and how many accounts are ready, waiting and claimed.

  3. 3

    Tap “Load your roster”

On your team's card, under Are you a leader for this ministry?, tap Load your roster. Only leaders with permission can open a team's roster.

    • You already have leader access: your private team page opens straight away.
    • You're listed as a leader but haven't claimed your account from its email yet: we email your team link to the address the office has for you, so only you can open it. Look in spam if you can't find it.
    • You don't have permission yet: type your role and press Ask for leader access. The office and your team's current leaders get your request by message and email. When one of them approves, your team link is emailed to you. You can check on it any time under Leader access.

Keep that email. The link inside is your team page from now on, so you can come back any time.

  4. 4

Choose how you'd like to work

Your team page asks How would you like to work? Both ways end up the same:

    • One account at a time: fill in one person, press Create this account, then do the next.
    • Build a list, create all at once: add everyone to your list by typing them in, pasting a whole list, or using a spreadsheet. Then press Create all.
  5. 5

    Fill in each person

Only a name is required, but the email is what lets them claim their account, so read it back letter by letter. Add their title, their church and the ministry teams they serve on. The more you fill in, the fuller their directory entry.

You can't make a duplicate by mistake. Anyone already on the website is matched to their existing record, and the page tells you Already on file, so nobody was doubled up.

  6. 6

    Send the claim links

Under Accounts and claim links, press Send all claim links. Each person gets an email from UFCCM with their own private link. They choose a password and they're in. Their name, church and team are already filled in.

Every person also has Copy claim link, so you can paste their link into a text message instead. Later, Send a reminder to everyone waiting nudges anyone who hasn't claimed yet.

  7. 7

Accept people who asked to join

Members who already have an account don't need a new one. They tap Request to join on your team's card, or choose your team on My Ministries & Churches.

Their requests appear at the top of your team page under People asking to join. Press Accept for the ones you know belong. They get an email, and your team shows on their profile.

  8. 8

    Watch your roster grow

Come back to Team Accounts any time. Your team's numbers update every minute. Tap a number to see exactly who is waiting and who has claimed.

When something doesn't go to plan

My team link never arrived.

Look in spam and promotions first. If it isn't there, tap Load your roster again and press Ask for leader access, or check where your request stands under Leader access. You can also write to the office through Messages or the Contact page.

Someone asked me for leader access.

You'll get a message and an email. Open Leader access and press Approve only if you know they lead that team. Approving emails them their team link; Decline lets them know politely.

I lead a church, not a ministry.

It works the same way. Scroll down Team Accounts to the Affiliate Churches, or open your church from the church directory, and tap Load your roster there.

Someone on my list doesn't have an email.

Create their account anyway with just their name. Then use Copy claim link and send it by text, or ask a family member for an email and add it later.

Someone says they already have an account.

Then they don't need a claim link. Ask them to sign in and tap Request to join on your team. You accept them from your team page.
